How we pick
Every pick on BigMenPicks goes through the same checks before it's listed.
1. The size has to exist
We open the actual Amazon listing and confirm it carries big sizes: 3XL and up, Tall sizes, wide widths like 4E and 6E, or long handles. If the big sizes are "currently unavailable", the product doesn't make the list.
2. Numbers come from the maker
Weight ratings, lengths and size ranges are quoted from the manufacturer or the Amazon listing. We don't estimate weight ratings, and we don't publish one when the maker doesn't. That's why you won't see a seating rating on our YETI coolers.
3. We read what reviewers report
Reviews from bigger buyers often reveal problems the specs don't, like durability or a narrow fit in one size. When those patterns show up, we mention them on the card.
4. Honest labels
- "Why it works for big guys" is our analysis of the published specs. It is not a hands-on test.
- "Chris owns this" appears only on items Chris actually owns and uses.
- We never say "we tested" unless we did.
5. Seller check
We link to the listing sold by Amazon or the brand's authorized store where possible, because third-party sellers sometimes list the same item at a markup.
6. Prices
We don't show prices. They change too often, and we'd rather you see the real number on Amazon.
What we skip
Some categories carry safety risk we can't judge from a spec sheet, like aftermarket car seat belt extenders, so we leave them out.
